| PVC or polyvinyl chloride (commonly referred to as vinyl) has been classified by EPA as a Group A human carcinogen. Exposure to it has been linked to adverse human health effects, including liver cancer, other liver ailments, and neurological disorders. |

If you ever smelled a new shower curtain, that's just the toxic additives evaporating. PVC production facilities can also poison the groundwater and air with hazardous chemicals. Thanks to these toxic additives, PVC can even contaminate other recyclable plastics. |

The good news is that there are better, safer alternatives to replace PVC. You can learn about them HERE. There are also things we can do to help eliminate PVC from our living environment by making better choices in products we buy (more HERE) and by asking companies and the government to clean up!
